The Simpson Strong-Tie FWANZ Foundation Wall Angle connects the foundation or basement wall to the floor system, resisting out-of-plane forces imposed by soil pressure.

Simpson Strong-Tie FWANZ Installation Overview
- Use all specified fasteners as per the general notes.
- Fasten the connector directly to the outside face of the rim board with specified nails.
- Ensure the connector is located within 4 inches of adjacent joist/blocking for floor joist spacing up to 48 inches o.c.
- For parallel floor joists, use full-depth blocking in the first two bays.
- Avoid splice joints on the rim board in the same bay unless blocking is placed on both sides of the splice.
- Use backer blocks when I-joist rim material is used, installed per manufacturer recommendations.
