Simpson Strong-Tie MMLU28-2 Installation Overview
- Install nails with a powered nail tool, ensuring face protection.
- Adjust nail tool pressure to avoid overdriving nails.
- Insert at least one 8d x 1 1/2" or 10d x 1 1/2" nail into each nailing grid.
- Follow the MMLU Installation and Load Table for additional nails.
- Ensure minimum vertical spacing of nails is 1/2" to prevent splitting.
- Verify MMLU height is at least 60% of joist height for rotation resistance.
- Install I-joist web stiffeners or floor truss end vertical webs if required.
